Othello Roses

Painting size : 36*48cm or 14.2*18.9inches , 450gsm matt Hahnemuehle fine art paper.

Othello rose is a variety of the beautiful David Austen Roses. The shrub has not been too popular because of its many thorns but the flower itself is most delightful, huge with a heady perfume and mostly hued dark pink to purple.

I have taken a few photos while painting these roses, u can have a look at http://www.watercolorjournal.wordpress.com

As reference I have used photos with kind permission from Mary of http://www.mooseyscountrygarden.com
